Saint Katherine Parish is part of the Pacific Northwest Deanery of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America, presided over by His Eminence, Metropolitan Saba, Archbishop of New York and Metropolitan of All North America (https://www.antiochian.org). Our Metropolitan Archbishop is a member of the Holy Synod of the Patriarchate of Antioch and All the East (https://www.antiochpatriarchate.org/), the same church mentioned in Acts 11:26. The Church of Antioch is in Communion with the other Orthodox Churches of Constantinople, Alexandria, Antioch, Jerusalem, Georgia, Russia, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece, Albania, Poland, Czech Lands and Slovakia, along with the Orthodox Church of America and the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia.
Our services are all conducted in the English language, but follow the rubrics of the Byzantine Tradition. This community is largely made up of converts to the Orthodox Faith from a variety of backgrounds. We have a lot of young families, so we are definitely "kid friendly" if you have children.
If you are already Orthodox and looking for information on attending, please see our "Calendars and Resources" tab above.
If you are brand new and curious about Orthodoxy, you are in good company. We love to have inquirers visit! Please see our "What to Expect When Visiting" and "Inquirer Resources" tabs for a look at what you can expect when coming to a service. On Sundays after potluck, we have an Inquiry Class where you can bring your questions and learn more about the Faith.
Our priest, Father George Aquaro, would like to meet you after the service when you visit. You can read his message and see a video at the "Meet Our Priest" tab.
